The week before last I broke out the charcoal sticks and we practiced our shading and tones. Everyone loved the Warhol cats so much, and it being the week before Halloween, we went back to the cat as model and muse.The subject was the black cat this time, and how it is not one tone or shade, but many. Light, dark, structure, fur, shape and expression all play a part in capturing this beautiful animal.
(These are just a few of the cats. Some hissed and spit as I got close. A tad feral I guess.)
